FAQ's
What do you charge for shipping?
There is a set rate of $6 for all shipping. If you wish to have specialised shipping - urgent delivery, track and trace, fed ex etc. you are wlcome to contact me and discuss other options.
What currency does your web site use?
New Zealand dollars.
Are your beads annealed?
They certainly are. They are flame polished first, annealed and then thoroughly cleaned.
What is the difference between sterling and fine silver?
Sterling silver has .925 silver content wheras fine silver has .995. The silver content is higher and the material softer.
What type of glass do you use?
I use mainly Italian Effetre, Double Helix from the US and New Zealand Gaffer.
What is an art glass bead?
All lampwork is "hand made" but art glass is made by self representing artists who spend a great deal of time designing and working on individual beads which can often take an hour or more each to make. They are in fact miniature works of art.
Are all your beads first class top quality beads?
All beads have been thoughtfully designed, made with love, annealed and cleaned. Please note however that the beads on the bookmarks could be considered as imperfect due most often to the fact that they are slightly mishapen or have a bur along the edge that would make them unsuitable for use as pendants or in fine jewellery etc.
What is New Zealand like?
Aaah well it's vastly different depending on where you are. Mountains, rivers, lakes,ocean, forests, fiords are all there. I wake each morning to the sound of waves on a beach and go to sleep each night to the call of the oyster catchers. My little part of Paradise is Ruakaka in Northland.
